Today we celebrate the victory of the anti-Hitlerite alliance over the fores of Fascism. Tens of millions died so that the world could be rid of this menace. Not just so that we might be free of their molestation, but also so that Germans and Italians living under such tyrants could be free as well!

I only have one relative who served during WWII: my great-uncle was a tank commander during the Italian campaign, and fought at many of the famous battles in that theater. My grandfather was drafted, but entered service after the surrender. He later served as an aircraft technician during the Korean War.
Did any of your relatives fight in that epic and world-defining conflict?
