I wasn't exactly sure how to phrase this, or whether this was the right forum, but here goes:
Is there a way to stop cities from advancing through the ages at a certain point? I like seeing my cities up until the Renaissance, but my least favorite part of any game is watching my beautiful buildings turn into ugly boxy Industrial eyesores. The Modern Age makes me glad the game is almost over.
I wouldn't even mind if cities kept the ancient style, if that's what it takes (I imagine it would be harder to make them stop at Industrial, as opposed to just making them never change).
My personal preference would be some alteration of the XML - some way to "break" the aging-up mechanic, without breaking the game - as opposed to a mod. I have a macbook, and I have not yet successfully downloaded a mod. To put it gingerly, I am not technologically adept.
I apologize once again if this is in the wrong forum, and I thank you in advance for your help.
