Is there a good guide or video that deals with maximizing the potential of a liberty opening? I feel like I don't have enough direction when I choose this opening, particularly as to when and where to found new cities and what buildings to produce/skip.
I'd also like some help in dealing with my tech tree. When I start a game, I tend to choose techs that allow me to improve the resources that are on my lands. When I do it this way, I tend to have a few cities before the philosophy tech, making it harder to get the all-important (according to the site, at least) National College. If I want to go to war, this makes things even more complicated. I also notice that AI civs will sometimes beat me into one or more of the earlier eras.
