Welcome, to my second NES, DominatrNES II: From Chariots to Corporations. This is a fresh start on the map of our earth.
Rules
You are the leader of your civilization and in order to command your civilization, you are to send orders by PM of your wishes. In addition, you can achieve even more by writing stories and really fleshing out your culture.
Orders
Players are to give orders to me by PM, outlining where they will be spending points to increase statistics and other operations (declare war, make peace, forge alliance, contact NPC, etc. and what your goals are. If they're reasonable, they might be achieved.) Orders should be formatted a certain way to keep things organized. The format for orders is :
---------------------------------------------
Title: (Civilization Name) Orders- Turn (turn #)
Agriculture- (Points spent)
Military- (Points spent)
Religion- (Points spent)
Research- (Points spent)
Economy- (Points spent)
Other operations, goals, dialogue with NPCs
---------------------------------------------
Diplomacy
Diplomacy is conducted to work together, discuss important matters with other civilizations. Contacting other human players can be done either in the thread or by private messaging them, whichever you prefer. Speaking with NPCs is done by PM, and is to be included in orders as a subsection. The format for diplomacy with NPCs is this:
From: (Your civilization)
To: (Target civilization)

Stories
I highly recommend investing the time in writing a story every once in a while. It develops the lore of the NES and you will see more success if you make contributions. This is primarily a stat based NES, but without the lore, it has no substance, so stories are essential. They do not have to be particularly lengthy or eloquent, but it has to clearly display an honest effort.
Statistics
You have Twenty points to spend on increasing statistics and that number may increase with advancement technologically. When points are spent they do NOT directly increase a stat, but they have the chance to. For example, if 5 points are spent of a stat, it has a 50% chance to increase by 1. If 8 points are spent, it has an 80% chance to increase by 1. If 10 points are spent it has a 100% chance to increase by 1.There are five statistics which you can directly effect:
Population- The central statistic which is not to be overlooked, no matter how much the novelty of other stats cloud your prioritization. A population increase, which has a 10% chance to increase any of the other stats by 1. It is very important to keep Population higher than Military, but less than Treasury in order to prevent upkeep costs and to remain stable.
Military- This statistic influences your ability to wage war and maintain order in your civilization. The value of your Military statistic is used in relation to your enemy's Military statistic to gauge your strength. Having more put in Military than Population will cause a penalty to the Economy. If two civilizations are equally matched militarily, other factors could influence the outcome.
Religion- Religion can be a peaceful alternative to military. If you increase the strength of your religion, it is possible to find followers in other civilizations and it may even cause a religious conversion and award you territory. Be aware, though, not all civilizations will wish to accept your religious beliefs and may try to fight you if you impose them too much.
Research- This statistic measures your technological progression. For every 3 points in Research, a new technology is learned. The advancements progress in a linear fashion. Technology has a huge influence on your success, as a civilization with access to bronze will dominate on the battlefield, and a civilization with a banking system will generate much more income. To see the advances, look at the technology timeline further down the page.
Economy- Essentially, Economy is your earnings per turn. Each turn, your economy value is added to your treasury. (If your treasury is 10 gold and you have an economic value of 3, your treasury the next turn is 13) Your Economy can potentially suffer if Military exceeds Agriculture, due to the need to support troop costs.
Treasury- The only statistic that you can not increase directly through spending points. It is a representation of wealth and riches, and it can be used to bribe other nations into accepting your demands, trading for technologies or land, make peace, forge alliances, give gifts, etc. Later on, with things like banking, the treasury can be used to give out loans and buy more points to spend at beginning of the next turn.
Please note that stats are subject to change in other ways. For instance, after a large war, the population and military stats may take a bit of a hit. All technologies can increase stats in some way as well.
Joining DominatrNES II: From Chariots to Corporations
You must create a civilization in order to join. The civilization must be original, and of your own creation. There is no "fantasy" elements, so keep things realistic, but not actually real. To join, fill this template out:
---------------------------------------------
Nations name: (both standard and plural form)
Capital City:
Leader: (Title and name)
City/Province List: (At least 10 names to be used in stories, and on maps)
Societal Structure: (classes, how people live, jobs)
Interesting Information: (Some things that make your civilization unique)
Territory Color: (Optional, it will be your color on the map)
Brief History:
Area on Map: (Follow carefully. You must post an image of the map (or part of the map) directly specifying where you want to place your capital city. The city is to be marked with a dot.
---------------------------------------------
Updates
Each turn, i will post an update summarizing events and post a map that corresponds with the story. I will also update the statistics that can be seen lower on the page. I will update regularly, on a weekly basis. Usually, i tend to request orders by the end of the work week, so i have a lot of time to craft the update on the weekend. Keep in mind that late orders could result in a late update, so please be prompt with them. If you do not send orders, you miss out on spending points, and your civilization is in a vulnerable state.
Map
PLEASE READ: (This pertains to all players joining at the very beginning of the NES. You may quickly reserve a location by posting your submission with just the civilizations name and the map specifying your capital city's location. The rest can be filled out later when you've got time. I know all of you are scrambling to get the spots you wanted in the Pre-thread. Be aware that settling outside of the grey areas can result in isolation, slow trade and advancement, and barbarian danger, so it is advised that you stay in the grey to be in on the main scene.) YOU MAY POST NOW!
