[G&K] Sorta Roleplaying Civ Suggestions?

Map: Continents Plus
Size: Large, probably :)
Difficulty: Prince, most likely. I'm not very good at Civ... >.>

I have only vague ideas of what Civ would be good for this idea, but I definitely want to go for a domination victory.

I'm thinking about a sort of "Crusading" style Civ, that has a powerful Faith and a powerful Military.

Byzantium looks interesting for the extra religion bonus and average combat strength, so there's that. But I think most of my combat will take place mid- to late-game, so their focus on early game units is kinda meh, to me.

I'm thinking that with the number of cities I'll likely have, Faith MIGHT not be a huge problem to get.

That in mind, Arabia looks nice, just because I'll have a lot of cities, so a lot of trade routes. Also the extra oil will be AMAZING when I start wanting to churn out tanks and such.

Russia looks nice for a similar reason: Double resources and production lets me field a large army, and once I research Guilds, I can Produce wealth to keep it going.

Maya looks good to maintain the tech advantage AND faith at the same time, but most games I've tried Maya in, I tend to have money problems. Can't ever seem to get enough of it. But MAN that UB is AWESOME.

Carthage's free harbours and ability to walk over mountains could also be good for this.

And the last one that caught my eye was Hiawatha, because not needing to pay for roads seems like it could help for maintaining an army.

So as you can see, I've done a bit of research, but I'm having trouble deciding which Civs would be decent at it.

So uh... any suggestions?

Also, if this is posted in the wrong section, uh.... whoops. Wasn't sure whether this would be better here or in the strategy section.

EDIT: Clarification on the mid- to late-game combat thing: I plan to be relatively peaceful early in the game and build up a decent military. I'll probably start warmongering either when I start getting crowded, or in the late medieval era, maybe a bit later. Whichever comes first, really.
