As many of you probably heard, the European Union has been awarded the Nobel peace prize.
Amongst much laudation there's also a lot of criticism.
Personally, I think the biggest criticism is that it should've been awarded earlier.
In my opinion the European Union, and it's system of open dialogue, multilateralism, common goals and common interests, collaboration and values has created an almost unseen stability, peace and securirty on the European continent.
It has made Europe from one of the most warmongering continents on the planet to one of the most peaceful continents.
And unlike the relative peace in the 19th century, this system isn't based on a fear of mutual assured destruction, but based on a belief that we all need to help further our goals together in collaboration.
I agree fully with the awarded Nobel peace prize.
So, what do you think, is it a deserved Nobel peace prize, or an absolute mistake?
Discuss!
(Of course, one can question the value of said prize when looking at some other winners, but that's not the point).
