Two new types: Financial and Tribal. On the Mod Browser as "New City State Types".
OK, Tribal is just a rename of Militaristic and not new. When doing my world map I found it problematic to represent certain areas with cities, so I just named them "The Sami", "The Ainu", "The Navajo" etc. I don't like to represent them with modern settlements, even if they have some form of a parliament there.
For Financial I made some more effort. The effect: receive gold in your 4 largest cities (friend/ally):
I found this type is perfect to add some modern city states. First I wanted to add production (the only yield not somehow covered by city states) to the 4 richest cities, but found that could be unbalancing. I added the penalty if failing to befriend financial city states as a hint towards the global economy. And to make them less boring.
Compatability: favorable. I noticed a few other city states mods popping up recently; haven't tested with those but it should be OK.
Overrides DiploList.lua and CityStateStatusHelper.lua. In case of conflict with other mods: throw them out of this one; this will only cause the type display for Financial city states to fail in the diplomacy overview. The icon and the popup info remain correct.
Modularity: You can easily remove either type, or individual city states, from this mod.
And finally the CS added:
Big thanks to Iceco for his NACSMod; an obvious source of inspiration :)

- initial effects: 1/3
- medieval era: 1/4
- industrial era: 2/5
- modern era: -2 gold if another civ is ally
