If any of you have played the flash game Backyards Buzzing, I was thinking about that game when I came up with this idea.
I was thinking about some things, and thought "Civilization 4 would be so awesome if there was a backyard mod..." And so I thought why hasn't someone made a mod where you play as bugs against other bugs, like spiders vs. ants? Ant "cities" would look like a net of colonies, and spider cities as spider webs hung on grass leaves. Forests would be replaced by tallish grass, and hills as... mounds. For scale, a human would be about a 3x3 tile area.
The tech tree would be completely replaced and uses mostly biological things up until the "Modern" stages, where they would evolve into more intellegent creatures and therefore able to make tools. This is when humans start appearing in attempts to prevent(Exterminate) the ants/spiders before the end, which consists of conquest or evolution, in which the creatures become truly intelligent.
I need feedback, so it is appreciated.
