Next war review by Decap008.
Ok just got into civ4 for something to do. Got it cheap off ebay or amazon. Runs decently on modern computer.
Did a normal game was great but seemed to lack a bit in the end game.
Loaded next war. Was pretty awesome.
Love shielded cities reminds me of strategic commander.
Played europe was hoping to be britain but thats put down as part of the american empire.
Was minding my own business trying to figure out what was going on. Found a part of canada to settle. Mr Big america inc went mental.
Airports, airlifting in and air strikes seem to be an essential part of softening up cities before attack.
Assault Mechs just fall over its embarassing. 4 is too few for unit cap.
Dreadnoughts are good for hitting embedded defending city troops but seem to be glass cannons.
Capturing cities was PAINFULLY slow. Just horrible. But I felt it was an accurate reflection of how hard it would be in reality.
Cyborgs would be more fun as terminators but e eventually i used about 40 units of them to smash down defenses. This was whilst mr big was already fighting the chinese and the persians.
If the city didnt die in one turn it reinforced to the max.
This led to the tactic of camping outside and using air and ranged mech support to soften them up.
Spys were disapointing.
I have rejigged a few things and called it spywar1.
its work in progress.
