Gary Johnson (Libertarian Party) gets 1%, 1 mil. votes. Now what?

Gary Johnson of the Libertarian Party, who was aiming at 5% of the vote, got just over 1,000,000 votes in the US Elections. Thus he end the race on the third position in the popular vote. The question is - now what?

Johnson if the first Libertarian Presidential candidate to gain more than 1 mil. votes, and just the second Libertarian Party candidate to get more than 1,000,000 votes. Though this falls far from his goal of 5%, it is still a big achievement, given that his campaign was created with just 2,6 million dollars (compared to the billions, spent by GOP and Democratic campaigns).

As a libertarian, who does not live in USA, I am still happy to see that there's a revival in the classical liberal idea in the United States. I think that the future ahead for the libertarian party is quite bright, with Obama's policies bringing the country on the verge of economical collapse, and the GOP being a constant mess of smaller organizations within itself.

I am realistic - the next US President is most likely to be from the GOP party (the three main candidates being Rand Paul, Paul Ryan and Jon Huntsman), with no chances for the Libertarian Party to get to the Oval Office. However, I do believe that the next Libertarian Candidate, especially if it is Johnson again, would be the first one to get electoral votes since George Wallace. The main reasons why Johnson couldn't get more than 1% are hurricane Sandy and the fact that many of the libertarian supporters in the swing states were actually afraid of Obama taking a second term and voted for Romney only to ensure that social policies such as Obamacare would be halted. Sadly, they failed. I also do not expect President Obama to actually be able to fulfil Latino community expectations, who do share views on lot of points with the GOP, and it is actually the GOP that must change its view on immigration to win them as supporters. The only chance for this to happen is if Rand Paul runs for the office in 2016 - still, I do not think this is the most possible scenario (albeit, it is still highly possible). I think a big chunk of the Latino community would vote for Johnson (or a similar LP candidate), with the only thing needed for this success being more exposure for the Libertarian party campaign.

Are there any fellow CFC voters from the USA, who voted for Johnson, and would they do it again in 2016?
