Ok here is a possible bug in BNW, I'm debating weather this should go here or in the bug fourm. However since the Shuffle of Doom is here in the fourm, I figured this goes along the same lines.
In another thread one poster says that the AI was able to reconize he was running away in tech and wonders, so 4 AI Dowed him and put him back in his place.
I was playing a game with Japan, going for a cultural victory. Unfortunatly I lost GL to portugal which caused me to lose another wonder I was planning on using the free tech to get the plans for.
Later on I decide that portugal must die because they had too many wonder I wanted. Before I could DoW them they DoW me! While fighting them Siam backstabs me too! In the end there is alot of fighting. No Civs lose cities, however after the war, I attack and kill two city states that were in the way.
This got me the warmonger penalty. Later on Portugal DoWs me again. She had a large army but I'm efficiently killing her troops. However for some reason, the whole world turns evil. Everyone not involved with the war thinks I'm so dangerous that they all denouce me, embargo me and DOW me.
I don't understand why. What other civs were doing to each other is far worse than what I could do. Yet for some reason the AI seemed to mislabel me as a runaway and therefore everyone had to gang up on me.
World Congress is really good for hurting a big runaway civ. Embargo and standing army tax hurts! But it should be used on big civs, not ones already having issues with stronger nations.
Is this a bug? In the past I've had games where I was DOWed by more than one civ while at war with someone else, but this was a bit much. Did the AI somehow glitch and think that I was a runaway civ? Can people confirm that the AI will try to stop a runaway? Did it glitch and give me that label? What is the verdict?
