With Brave New World, I've noticed religions get founded MUCH earlier. I've always suspected it must be the piety tree; however, this game I am playing on diety and it is turn 67 and Indonesia has just ENHANCED their religion, which was founded some turns ago. Now, an enhanced religion on turn 67 is strange by any metric but consider this:
- Sidon, a CS between indonesia and I (and therefore discovered by both), has a faith quest which I am winning handily, and yet I am 35~ faith away from my FIRST prophet. And this isn't some explosion of faithto win. I have had desert folklore from the beginning and rushed stonehenge.
- He does not own any faith wonders. I own stonehenge.
- He has not gone piety for the great prophet.
So, turn 67 with no faith, no piety, no wonders-- and yet he's cranked out 2 prophets? Surely this must be a bug?
