Does multiple trades with the same Civ give more influence?

For instance, let's say I want to spread culture to Polynesia, does the more trade routes equate to more influence? Or is it just as soon as you get 1, you get the max bonus?

Basically, is it a waste to have more trade routes with one Civ when you're just looking to get a bonus against them culturally?
