CTD on v29

I started a GEM scenario and everything went smoothly until around 1200 BC. Then every other a couple turns I began to experience CTD with the following message:

"FATAL_ERROR: Memory allocation failure - exiting program. Reason: bad allocation"

I am running the game on an Asus G75 VX with 16 GB RAM, and a 3 GB nvidia GTX 680MX graphics card. Operating system is 64-bit Windows 8.

Could anyone shed a light on the problem??
