Some of the wonderful units of Sandris were never rescaled and therefore are too small compared to other units in my mod CCM. For the next version of CCM, I want to use these units -among them the Mongolian swordsman and the early German spearman- in the correct size.
What is the correct factor to enlarge the small original Sandris units to the new rescaled format?
I never did such a rescaling job for Civ 3. I think I will use Flicster and PSP 7. These would be some steps in the planed operation:
1. Export the single images of an animation of the unit with Flicster.
2. Save the palette of the exported animation and look at the size of the single image.
3. Enlarge colours of each image from 256 to to 16 Mio. colours.
4. Enlarge each image by the factor I hope I will be told in this thread.
5. Sharpen the new image with PSP 7.
6. Reduce the size of the single image screen to the old size so the new enlarged unit stays centered (I don´t know if screen here is the correct translation)
7. Reduce the colours to 256.
8. Import the saved palette to each image.
9. Look if the last two colours of the palette are magenta and poison-green.
10. Look if there are any colour anomalies in the new image and fix them.
11. Import the new images with flicster to the new unit flic.
12. Test the new unit on a Civ 3 map.
Is there something important that I have missed?
Are there some workarounds to achieve the correct result (enlarged unit on the map) more easily?
