Hey gang--
How do you handle non-stop war? I've been at war with Alex (he declared on turn 70).
Am playing Prince, and as Ethiopia. He settled three quick cities and I had nowhere to settle my second city, and spent my money and production building military units.
I drove him back a few times, but once I went outside my borders to see what he was doing, he attacked with a ton of units.
My Great Wall is totally useless! It hasn't stopped him one little bit. His units just go right over it and advance. Which I don't understand--I thought they would suffer a movement cost or something.
I'm at turn 201 (actually I rage quit on turn 201 and am actually at turn 199).
I can't hold him off. He's pillaged a ton of stuff. And for every one of his units I kill, he sends three more in it's place.
On the demographics he's first, and I'm third in military. He has around 110,000, and I'm at 93,000 (roughly).
I have no intention of continuing this game as it has not been fun for the last 150 turns. He refuses any peace treaty, and like I said, he sends three more units for each one I kill.
It's hopeless.
So what do you guys/gals do in games like this? Do you quit? Do you play it out? Do you want to smash your fist through the computer screen?
Here are some snapshots.
NOTES: In turn 97 my army was so small because he had wiped out about half of it.
Same thing with later screen shots.
I have two citadels right outside my city, crossbowmen are in them. But they are proving ineffective because Alex's troops are so numerous and don't stay near the citadels long enough to take damage.
I met Alex on turn 4 and he hated me from that moment.
