Could civ "think" during my turn

The worst part of civ has always been the wait after clicking next turn. After countless hours of civ iv I couldnt wait for civ v thinking how it would take advantage of multi core cpu and lots of ram. Then comes civ v. Still waiting a "whole" 10-30 seconds.
Yes its a big game, yes lots of units and citys x lots of civs and cs. And while I click away moving units and picking the next building the cpu sits around doing nothing. Couldnt that wasted cpu cycles be used to do some of the next turn thinking? Sure some things will change depending on what I do but a significant amount could be ready. The programing theory already exists. Cpus pre cache things all the time. The game should be able to know it is going to move that trapped scout back and forth 3 times before I click next turn.
