Corporations and Trade

Has the idea of not being an immortal communist autocrat ever come up in this thread? I think that corporations should be a feature of the game, initially being local in nature but eventually becoming global and perhaps more than that as the player colonizes other worlds. Corporations will produce :c5gold:, :c5happy:, and other yields by making products, and can with government approval export the products they make around the world. A new type of corporation will be unlocked with relevant techs, creating a whole marketplace of competing businesses. Corporations may also be blocked from trading in a country that does not desire their involvement. Corporations should also be able to build infrastructure, again on government approval.

In addition, the whole concept of "trade routes" as it stands in the current game should be done away with. It should be replaced with a system of vehicles that travel the land, sea, and air lanes, and later on the space lanes, trading goods that are both manufactured and primary goods harvested from the soil. These goods should provide some bonus of :c5culture:, :c5gold:, :c5happy:, etc. Trade will be conducted by corporations and will be both intranational and international.

Additionally, the concept of having a legislature and elections should be added to the game.
