Intra-nation elections (non-binding)

Hi, so I've always wanted to play a game where I could act like a parliamentary monarch and make decisions at the advice and consent of a prime minister. I feel this is a great opportunity for the next Civ 5 expansion pack.

I understand this would be very difficult to institute in a computer game with an AI Prime Minister, but I feel this would be at least partially possible.

The game already has a happiness rating. This is based on different factors like how many cities you have, how many happiness buildings you have, how many puppet cities you have, etc.

This could be something similar to having an election. After a set number of turns, perhaps equivalent to 5 years, there would be an election and there would be a re-grade of happiness based on the above factors as well as other factors such as how the economy is doing (how many economic buildings/research you have), how the military is doing (how many/few military units you have in response to invasions). There could be something as simple as a pop-up that says, "The newly elected Prime Minister suggests the following things..."

Of course this would be non-binding, you could listen to your Prime Minister and your happiness would go up, or you could ignore the Prime Minister and you would be more tyrannical. Something like that.

The game could be a little bit more detailed if need be, maybe having political parties that you could name, showing how many seats in parliament was won by each party.

I feel that would be amazing.
