Leoreth has made the third party mods of Blue Marble, Ethnic City Styles, and Verietas Delectat work with DoC, and is working on merging K-Mod. Merijin has made a 2nd UU/UB modmod that adds flavor & replayability to DoC.
What I am asking is, do we the players know and/or use any other third party mods that also work with DoC? I have not paid enough attention to Civ IV mods beyond scenario mods, but various mods that affect general gameplay can be expected to work with DoC after simple installation if their scales are not quite as big as that of K-Mod.
Specifically, I'm looking for:
- A mod (?) that provides text suggestions on Diplomacy. Such as "Leader X has Y Gold for Trade. Leader Z will sign Open Borders." I've seen this mod before in replays/stories. What is it exactly? Does it work with DoC?
- A mod that provides custom names to units based on their numbers and cities of production. For example, if you are Rome and build your 11th Legion unit in Constantinopolis, it will be named "Legion 11 (Constantinopolis)" instead of simply "Legion". I've seen this feature too in replays/stories.
- A mod that provides detailed calculations on the changes in Yield/Commerce when you build a building in a city. For example, it will tell you how much :hammers: you get exactly from building a Factory in a city. In a city with higher base :hammers: this number would be bigger. I've seen this feature in some (non-RFC) scenario mods.
- Any mod that tweaks combat mechanics, such as Dale's Combat Mod. Has anyone tried any of these with DoC? DCM works with vanilla BTS. If such a mod is based on Unit Categories (Siege, Archery for ranged bombardment) it should work with a mod like DoC.
- Any mod that improves graphics. I don't care much about graphics (I don't even use Blue Marble), but other readers of this thread are likely to be interested. What graphics mods work with DoC besides the ones Leoreth has officially included?
