By accident I discovered this paragraph in the German school law for the state of North-Rhine-Westfalia:

This roughly translates to:
To be honest, I haven't noticed anyone trying to teach us fear of god in anyway, but religion is (or was, I'm not exactly up to date) a mandatory topic in the German equivalent for highschool. For a few years, at least. You are allowed to opt out, though, so it's not as mandatory as it sounds.
Do other countries have "fear of god" in their school laws, too?
